Globalization

Globalization is the connection of different parts of the world, like Americanization, which makes the expansion of international cultural, economic, and political activities. For example, religion spreads far beyond the original areas, it becomes more common that understanding more than only one language, and we can eat other countries' food without going abroad. I think globalization is beneficial for the world because it helps spread the information and resources around the globe.

Globalization has a very long history. In ancient Greek, the globalization of culture spread with the conqueror Alexander the Great, and many cities are named for Alexander in Iraq, Egypt and Turkey. The Silk Road between China and the Mediterranean also promoted the globalization, people  exchanged  their knowledge, religion and goods with each other by this. And then globalization grew by the colonies of Europeans, and they brought Christian to Latin America. Globalization developed faster in the 19th century with the Industrial Revolution and sped up in the 20th century with the development of the transportation of the air travel like plane, because people can communicate more easily and distance will not be a big limitation for the spread of the culture and goods.
