In John Carroll

    Today is the second day I studied in John Carroll School. It is still like a dream for me to study in America, the country which is much different from China.

    Before I go there in person, I usually wonder what will happen when I start my school life. It may be very difficult for me because my English is not really good, I don't know what I should do if I can't understand what teacher says in class. And I also worried if I can make friends with American students, or if I can find someone who has the same hobby as mine. I'm not confident about my school life in future.

    But when I go there, I found that the school life might would be much better than what I thought. All of the international students are good, I made many new friends from them, and we also have the same hobby, like watching movies and so on, so we always have something to talk about. We will never feel bored when we stay with each other. American students also are friendly. Yesterday I met a American girl in unscheduled time, we studied together and talked about what we wanted to be. I wanted to be a surgeon, but maybe I would change my mind in the future. She wanted to be an astronaut. I thought it was so cool! She was the first person I knew who wanted to be an astronaut! It sounded really good. Then she helped me with a little problem of my summer reading assignment.(I didn't know where I could get the form of the assignment) And today I saw her in freshman seminar again which made me feel surprised!

    Teachers in John Carroll School are good too. my advisor is Mr. McIntyre, he is a really good teacher who helped me a lot, I could asked him for help no matter when. He helped me join the chorus that I liked so much. Ms. Seiler is my EIS class teacher, she is kind and thinks so much for us, and she always speaks slowly in order that we can understand her. Algebra teacher Mrs. Markel is patient, human geography teacher Mr. Schick is interesting, intro to Christianity teacher Mr. Meyerl is enthusiastic and friendly. All of teachers wanted to help us be familiar with the life in John Carroll, and tried their best to let us not feel nervous or worried. I believe that I will have a good 4-year school life in the future.

    All in all, I like my friends and students in John Carroll, I like teachers in John Carroll, I like the life in John Carroll. By the way, I like Bel Air so much, it's a really beautiful place!
