Definition and the opinion

agora :
It's a marketplace in Athens where people can show their opinion to others.

polis :
It is a word in ancient Greek which means city-state, and the city-states in ancient Greek always fought with each other although they were in same country, ate same food, had same culture, because they had different government.

the importance of the year 508BC to the ancient Greeks:
It was the first time people created the concept of democracy, no one did it before. It ruled that people needed to vote the leader, and everyone had a chance to vote.

Socrates :
He's the leader of western philosophy, and he almost created the western civilization.

the death of Socrates :
He was forced to drink poison hemlock because of the disrespect of the god and the corruption of youth.

the Socratic method :
He taught people by asking people how do they feel about something and making some arguments to discuss to let people think.

what the ancient Greeks meant if they called you an idiot :
The word idiot in ancient Greek meant that people who had no responsibility, they didn't want to anything for their country.

My opinion about the democracy

I think people making decision for government is  better than only government making it. Because sometimes the government doesn't know what people really need. If people can make decision by themselves, they will strengthen support for the government, and make much more useful rules. And most of people will feel satisfied about the government. But if government makes decision by themselves, they can take action of some projects more quickly.
